Back home

My trip to St. Louis (well actually Eureka) was great. I had so much fun and was greatly encouraged. Funky's family are the most generous, hospitable bunch you might ever know.
I will be uploading the photos to my photo blog soon, so keep an eye out for that.

Now that I'm back home I'm ready to get busy. I need to save money for better camera equipment. So I need more photo jobs. I'm working with Cory (Better Way Screen Printing) to offer some sweet band package deals (shirts, buttons, patches and promo shots, for one low price)

So if you need some photography, or screen printing done, hit me up.

I have great friends

My good friend Christan of Art of Living Studios and her husband Eric, owner of Artbeat, are going to let me borrow their truck to go to St. Louis to shoot my friend Funky's wedding.

oh st. louis

I guess I should have prefaced this by saying, my friend Funky asked me to shoot his wedding. I am so honored, being specifically asked by another photographer to do his wedding. I will also finally get to meet his soon to be wife Liyah. I will be shooting with a photographer Funky introduced me to, Pam Eder, her stuff is really good. I am very excited, and very, very nervous.

Liyah & Funky

Christan is also letting me borrow a sweet camera lens she got, it's a macro 100mm with a 2.8 f-stop . I had the opportunity to use it at a wedding we shot together a week or so ago. It is really handy, I used it for shots from the balcony during the ceremony. You can see the shots I took when I upload them to my photography blog in a week or so.

I should also mention, Cory & Vanessa Castoe are the amazing people that let me live at their house. They are going to be getting me on their phone plan, which will be saving me a whole lot of money. They are always doing things for me. I love them. Alot.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg on how awesome my friends are.

So, here I am, alone in Iowa...

I find myself alone here in Iowa, with a lot of time on my hands, a lot to do, a lot to think about. I also find myself completely unmotivated. I want to be a great writer one day, a few days ago, I was amped to get started, all this free time in Iowa would be perfect to work on my writing, but I'm stuck... I got nothing. I've got quite a few other things to accomplish though...
  • Practice all the new stuff I've been learning on guitar
  • Finish RE-editing the Gordon's wedding photo's that were once thought to be lost
  • Edit Chris and Kristen's engagement photos
  • Finish reading numerous books I brought with me, so that I could finish them... (Desiring God, Don't Waste Your Life, Flight, Tommysaurus Rex to name a few)
Luckily I got ArtBeat done so I could check that off my list, but it almost killed me. The traveling and such made me have to rush it last minute, but I think it turned out good and from what I've heard so does everyone else.

Anyways, here I am in Iowa with plenty to do, and no motivation... I think I'm going to finish watching the first season of Burn Notice now...

I leave you with a shot I took down the street from my mom's place where I'm staying... I took it during my last visit, all the photos I have to edit have kept me from wanting to take anymore yet.
