Dawn of the Zombie Wednesday!

DEAD FRONTIER:

So I played Dead Frontier a whole lot this past week. When I first started, I died, a lot. The game has quite the learning curve, and you aren't given a lot of information at the beginning. But the information is available, if you look for it. There is a very helpful wiki for the game, which will become your best friend while playing. Also, I found that the community is very helpful, don't hesitate to get on the chat system or the forums and ask questions.

Once you get the hang of the game, it can be very addicting and entertaining. It is, however, far from perfect, there are glitches and many things that will disappoint and annoy. That being said the game is still in testing, and being updated quite frequently. As a matter of fact, while I was playing this week, they overhauled the create-a-character and let me re-edit my character. I was tempted to give this game a lower score (a very low one when I kept dying haha) but, I can see that it's only going to keep getting better, and the more I played the more I fell in love with it. So Dead Frontier gets a 4 out of 5, highly recommended for zombie fans and rpg fans everywhere. Play it for yourself (for free!) here: www.deadfrontier.com

Treehouse of Horror XX:

In TreeHouse of Horror XX, the simpsons play homage to zombie movies. In the story, the new Krusty burger turns Springfield into zombies, or what they refer to as "Munchers." Bart is found to be immune, and is Springfield's last chance for survival. One of the funniest quotes in the episode is when Homer is being turned and Lisa says, "Dad... are you becoming a muncher?" and zombie Homer replies, "I think the better brains is, are you brains a brains!" The Simpsons never ceases to amaze me and this is the best Treehouse of Horror story yet.

Wishlist Item:

I've been waiting for this game to come out going on 2 years now. It's a card game by the makers of the amazing game, Munchkin (http://www.worldofmunchkin.com) If you know anything about Munchkin, you know that it is a game that heavily parodies, while paying homage to games like Dungeons and Dragons. Well Evil Ted seems to be the same thing, but parodying the Evil Dead series. This game has been listed as "In production" for quite some time now, but it it does ever get finished up and released it should be quite the game for zombie fans and Munchkin fans alike. http://www.sjgames.com/evilted

Zombie Wednesday Returns!

My Review of ZOMBIES!!!
I got Zombies!!! in the mail recently and the other night I got my chance to play it. I sat down with 5 of my friends and spent about 2-3 hours killing as many zombies as possible. The game plays out, by you flipping a map card every turn, placing the proper amount of zombies and bullet/health tokens, then trying to outdo your friends in a zombie slaughter. The first player to get 25 zombie kills (which can be taken away from you in various ways) or get to the helipad map tile and survive, wins.
Zombies!!! gets a 4 and 3/4 brains out of 5, mostly because I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it, but surely it can't be perfect. Obviously they made some improvements since theres like 9 add-ons. As I see it, however, this was one of the funnest times I've had with friends in recent years, I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes nerdy games, board games, or zombies.

Somebody get me this mask. It's so freakin' sick.
That's really all I've got to say.

Dead Frontier: a free MMORPG
I found this MMORPG while digging around for info, I'm probably going to be checking it out this week, hopefully I'll have a review by next week. In the meantime you can check it for yourself by going here: www.deadfrontier.com

Zombie Wednesday

I'm officially declaring Wednesdays to be Zombie Wednesdays. From now on every Wednesday I will make a post relating to zombies. Hope you enjoy it.

Saw Zombieland yesterday, here's my official rating:
Highly humorous, and very gory, two things that most zombie fans are looking for in a movie. It had a real similar feel to the movie "Wanted" at least with the narration and the underdog/hero aspect. I've heard people have been comparing this to "Shaun of the Dead", Ok, it's funny and there's zombies... well the similarities kind of end there.
There's not much you can say about this movie without ruining anything about it, but in short it follows a nerdy-esque gamer kid, who has more phobias than one can count. He is seemingly alone in the world after a zombie take over and he owes his survival to a very strict list he follows. He meets another survivor (Woody Harelson), who doesn't keep a list, but lives to kill zombies, and enjoys it thoroughly. The two work great together and eventually they meet a couple of girls, and there's a love interest... oops sorry, spoiler, no one expected there to be a love interest... haha.
I highly recommend this movie for anyone that has the slightest interest in zombies, or anyone that likes a funny movie and has a strong stomach.

Zombies!!!: The Game

Think "Left 4 Dead" with a Dungeons and Dragons twist. I've seen this game in stores before and have always been interested in it. Super geeky, I know... get over it. I recently heard some very good reviews from a friend who has played it so I was finally convinced to get it. I ordered it yesterday, so I should be able to post a full review in the next two weeks or so, but I need people to play it with, so, come hang out and kill zombies with me.

Skateboard Zombies

Finally a zombie wishlist item.
I really want one of these.

Twitter

I figured I would make a post sharing my Twitter with anyone that doesn't know I have one. I post scripture and christian quotes I find to be true and helpful on a daily basis, along with some normal personal twitter stuff, but that's really minimal.

Anyways, I really like following people who post scripture or Christian quotes often, and even if you don't I may still follow you.

So hit me up:

While you were sleeping last night...

“While you were sleeping last night, 30,000 kids died of starvation or diseases related to malnutrition. Second, most of you don’t give a shit. What’s worse is that you’re more upset with the fact that I said shit than the fact that 30,000 kids died last night.” - Tony Campolo

So, here I am, alone in Iowa...

I find myself alone here in Iowa, with a lot of time on my hands, a lot to do, a lot to think about. I also find myself completely unmotivated. I want to be a great writer one day, a few days ago, I was amped to get started, all this free time in Iowa would be perfect to work on my writing, but I'm stuck... I got nothing. I've got quite a few other things to accomplish though...
  • Practice all the new stuff I've been learning on guitar
  • Finish RE-editing the Gordon's wedding photo's that were once thought to be lost
  • Edit Chris and Kristen's engagement photos
  • Finish reading numerous books I brought with me, so that I could finish them... (Desiring God, Don't Waste Your Life, Flight, Tommysaurus Rex to name a few)
Luckily I got ArtBeat done so I could check that off my list, but it almost killed me. The traveling and such made me have to rush it last minute, but I think it turned out good and from what I've heard so does everyone else.

Anyways, here I am in Iowa with plenty to do, and no motivation... I think I'm going to finish watching the first season of Burn Notice now...

I leave you with a shot I took down the street from my mom's place where I'm staying... I took it during my last visit, all the photos I have to edit have kept me from wanting to take anymore yet.

Swine Flu

So swine flu is sweeping the nation... and not in a good way.

Not being sure of the difference between an epidemic and a pandemic, I asked my friend, who informed me "an epidemic means a lot of people will die. A pandemic means everyone could die... everyone."
Good to know. Guess we're all bound to die sometime.

I've also heard rumors that the government did this, they are trying to control the population.
Could be. I wouldn't put it past them.

I'm actually surprised something like this has taken so long to happen.

oh and by the way, I think epidemic actually means something spreading rapidly and pandemic means something spreading rapidly across multiple countries.

The True Change

The only real change is in the face. Sure things look different, but they are just as bad behind the curtain.
